Services used to be very good before. What a pity that it changed now with aggressive and cold face customer service staff. Email not answer. However I like the staff on 24/7 phoneline, always very helpful and patient. And after summer vacation I met a very nice and professional and quick customer service agent, so it looks like there are still a few great staff. But overal service is not good.

Staff is really friendly and helpful, also pretty fluent in English. If you're a non-EU citizen who moved to Lund to study or work, this is the bank you should visit, definitely not SEB where you are asked to come 2 months later!Nevertheless, I strongly suggest everyone trying to open a bank account in Sweden for the first time to KNOW all the procedures in detail.So, here is what you need to do to open a bank account:1. Apply for an ID number (personal number) at Skatteverket Lund (no appointment needed)2. When you have your number delivered to your address, book an appointment at Skatteverket Malmo, and apply for an ID card3. Go to Handelsbanken to apply for a bank account. There, you will fill up a form and be asked some questions regarding your employment etc. In two weeks, they will get back to you w/ a decision. You will be notified via SMS (I had my decision in two days!)4. Go to Handelsbanken to open a bank account. If you wish to have a bank card or credit card, indicate that. Also, say you want to activate your BankID5. In two days, your card will be delivered! BUT do not use the card and wait until your pin code is delivered as well. It is delivered the day after. THEN go to the bank with the card and the code, and activate your card and BankID!Note: For the appointments at both Skatteverket and Handelsbanken, bring ALL your documents w/ you as you obtain them, regardless they ask or not. This is a lot easier than trying to keep track w/ what they require. The documents they ask or may ask: Passport, residence card, ID card, employment documents.

Waited here for 30 minutes multiple times to be givin a form or hand in a form for about 30 seconds. Then told they would call me in two weeks to open an account ( which i actually couldn't wait for). And they never called either. This bank desperately needs someone checking what you need at the entrance, so simple things like collecting a form doesnt take an hour.

I have never visited a more UNprofessional bank. Possibly the worst customer service ever. When asked if they can open a bank account for a foreign student without a personnummer they said yes, received all the information and documents they required and said I would hear from them in about 2 weeks. I emailed them after 3 weeks for an update and they said they would look into it and get back to me. They never did. I emailed them again 2 months later. To that email they didn't even bother to respond. Look it's one thing if you refuse to open a bank account for whatever reason, but why not be straight-forward about it? Why say you are able to provide someone with a bank account and make them fill out all their information, bring you documents from the university etc if you have no intention of providing the service? And why your representatives don't do their job and have the common courtesy to provide an update?

Since the head of private equity changed to Mr.H.E everything went down. eMails and even internal e-post aren't answered at all. Very bad service and very expensive fees. Don't trust this office as an international customer, since you will have lots of work with them. Can't recommend.
