Deras iskender med brynt smör är legendarisk. Härlig miljö och trevlig personal. Turkisk kebab när den är som bäst

I always compare the turkish food they make in Europe, with the turkish food in Türkiye. Therefore, I am usually very disappointent. But this time, it was nearly the exact same and look! I tried the Iskender and the Manti, and it was very tasty. Here in Çok, it was the best turkish food I ever ate outside of Türkiye. The service was very good and friendly, and the food was also fastly prepared. The atmosphere was also nice, but could be more of a turkish design". You have to visit Türkiye to understand what I mean :). In general

Turkish fast food modernly interpreted. We had great evening with super delicious food. We were craving for Turkish food but didn’t want to go to the usual, kebab store for a take away. At Cok we got a board without reservation and were surprised about the modern and stylish appearance of the restaurant. The staff was very kind and especially fast and observative. They made a good job! The menu has a good selection of dishes, including vegetarian dished like a vegetarian kebab. We got a normal kebab in Pita bread, the veggie kebab and shared some small dishes like hummus, aubergine relish, Cig köfte and lahmacun. Please don’t leave that restaurant without trying the aubergine relish- it had so good flavouring and we all loved it! Overall, the food was enough for all 4 of us. We liked everything a lot but would have wished for more bread for the hummus and the other dips. The wrap bread of the veggie kebab could be roasted more. The Cig köfte come with lettuce leafs, which are also too less. You can always ask for more, but it would be better when they would bring more from the start. We also tried the Turkish beer and didn’t like it so much since it doesn’t taste so much like hop. But that is definitely a preference thing. So not negatively meant :)I would love to give the restaurant a 4.5 but unfortunately I can’t. Cok is so much better than just 4 Stars but is also not 100% perfect to give 5 stars. Thanks for that great evening and good job to the stuff and chefs!I just love that the water is free in almost all restaurant in sweden! Please keep that!

Best Iskender I ate in Sweden so far. The meat was tender and was not extremely buttery. Tomato sauce was not sour. I’ll try Manti and Lahmacun next time, looked pretty fine.

Authentic Turkish food at a hipster setting, definitely much better than their other restaurant in Kungsholmen. The waiting times can be quite long during the weekend evenings so it can be wise to make a reservation. Their karni yarik is worth to try, döner is not as good as in Turkey but definitely much better than many others you find in Stockholm, also manti is quite decent for what you would expect outside Turkey. Katmer is an energy bomb, only recommended if it is two or more to share. Very nice staff as well. Overall worth to make a swing to go to Södermalm, if you want to try Turkish food something beyond Amida’s amazing Adana kebab in the same neighbourhood.
