Explore Kiruna

I had the most amazing first experience seeing the Northern Lights with Explore Kiruna, on the Northern Lights Photography tour. The tour guide took a great photo of me under the lights as a keepsake, and taught me how to capture this phenomenon with my own camera. I also did the snowmobile tour, which was one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life, as well as the safari tour during the day along a historical road, where I saw moose and reindeer, both a rare and real treat to photograph. I also did the Sami Village tour where I got to get up close and personal with the reindeer, really got to understand their personality, and eat traditional Sami food in the cosy teepee dining area. I also went on an ice hotel tour which was very interesting, next time, hopefully I can organise a stay there, which Explore Kiruna also organises. Everything ran smoothly from arranging my tours, pick ups and drop off. I highly recommend Explore Kiruna.

Aaaaawesome northern lights tour - I wish I put 10 stars!It was a fantastic experience to see the northern lights with Alex! He is very knowledgable, fun and experienced guide! We didn't get to see the northern lights on our tour day, but he kindly took us again on another night free of charge! He picked us up with hot drinks and made a bonfire (not in the car, but on a lake:-)) to keep us warm. That night we were extremely lucky and got to see beautiful colourful sky. While we were staring at the northern lights Alex took photos which he kindly shared with us later. We would definitely recommend tours with Explore Kiruna to everyone and would surely come back ourselves.Thank you Alex for everything you did for us! =)

We had booked the tour and our tour guide Alex was really really great. Though we didn’t get to see the northern lights as we were there for only 2 nights, Alex went all out to help us and make our stay memorable. He took us around the town for free the next day- showing us the Ice hotel and dog sled visit.He is very very helpful and a great guy. He took special care in providing us with our favorite drinks , is very knowledgeable about how to take pictures with the camera to shoot the lights. Will definitely use his services again if we ever go back.

Alex’s tours are absolutely fantastic. We booked the Northern lights photography tour amongst a few others. Alex built us a fire and waited with us patiently even though the lights didn’t show. He organised for us to go out another night where we saw the most spectacular display. He shot us some great photographs, living up to the promise of the tour. Alex was the most gracious host and organised a fabulous husky sledge and Sami village tour. He also organised a transfer from the airport to our hotel (icehotel). Our time in kiruna was greatly enhanced by Explore Kiruna’s hospitality

My boyfriend and I joined the northern lights tour and enjoyed our time.Our guide Mikael is a real Aurora hunter and he picked up us to places where we could catch the best spots far from any artificial lights.He is very kind and enthusiastic.We enjoyed all the time watching the northern lights dancing in the sky.We absolutely suggest this experience.It’s 100% worth it.Thank you for this incredible tour!

I booked Kiruna Magical Northern Lights Photography Tour on march 18 2019. The host Alex contacted me on the day of the tour, to give details and update on the weather conditions and what we could expect for the night. He picked me up at the hotel and with 2 more people, he drove us to a lovely frozen lake, where he made a fire to keep us warm, while waiting for the aurora to show up. He also provided me with a delicious vegetarian bun to enjoy by the fire.We saw the lights and Alex took pictures of us with the aurora on the background.It was a perfect start for my vacation.I strongly recommend to book with him to enjoy Kiruna.

We had great experience with Explore Kiruna Tour. Alex was with us for our Northern Light tour and he is a great guide. Thanks to him we got unbelievable photos :) The things we have experienced are not explainable with words. We also had husky dog sledding tour with them and it was another great experience. If I go Kiruna again, I would definitely go to tours with Explore Kiruna.

Vi var på älgsafari med en mycket trevlig och bra guide. Tog sig tid att förklara och väntade tålmodig när vi fotade, första gången jag ser flera älg samtidigt och på olika ställe, för att inte tala om det fantastiska landskapet, god lunch och visad respekt för den samiska kulturen. Han rekommenderade även andra sevärdheter och visade oss var de hittades.

Great trip to see the Northern lights. The night was very cold (-27C) but extremely clear with a long lasting intense auroraMichael, the guide was excellent taking us to several viewing spots, no more than 39Km from Kiruna so travelling was kept to a minimum.We had a final stop at a rural cabin and were treated to a log fire, hit drinks and cookiesA very professional approach was experienced

We spend a week last april in Kiruna. Leon, from Explore Kiruna, has been guiding us with a moose safari and a stay in the Ice Hotel. Absolutely a wonderful time with some unforgettable moments! 10/10 would recommend!
