Horses of Taiga

Truly Excellent. We had a lovely trip with Horses of Taiga in March 2019. Flo is an excellent guide and cook and the horses are all lovely.When booking holidays like this, you often worry about how professional a company is, and sending money via bank transfer abroad is always daunting. Flo was really helpful throughout the booking process and gave lots of tips on what to bring and on organising things.Getting there is no problem, flights to Stockholm and Skelleftea (pronounced Shell-eff-tay-o) are frequent and at sensible times. Flo will pick you up from Skelleftea which is a tiny airport so no problem finding her as there’s only one room in arrivals!The accommodation in Winter is in the old bakery in Svansele which is basic, but clean and warm. Meals and showers are a (slightly cold) 30 second walk to the next building which is the old school. The night away is in a guest house in Petiktrask which was clean and smart, but a little chilly when we went as the pipes had frozen. Flo’s great food and company more than made up for this. We were a vegetarian and a vegan and this was no problem at all for her.The Horses are really amazing, fit, friendly and strong and with great characters. You really feel privileged to be trusted with these animals which are clearly not just ‘working horses’ but part of Flo’s family.In just three days we saw the Northern lights, frozen lakes, reindeer being herded and the incredible Taiga forest.We are definitely planning to visit again and I would recommend highly.

I had a fantastic trek with Fló, she is an excellent guide and the Icelandic Horses were wonderful. It was an amazing experience to fast tolt through the snow and along a frozen lake! I would definitely recommend Horses of Taiga.

Jag och min sambo red en tvådagarstur med övernattning i en stuga utan el och vatten, precis vid en sjö. Helt fantastisk upplevelse! Great experience the guides were really awsome, kind and very helpful! The horses were beautiful and very obedient as well. Will come back of the opportunity rise again!

Min dotter var på en halvdagsritt och hon är supernöjd. Jättefint beläget, jättetrevlig personal och superfina hästar. Många olika typer av valmöjligherer. Allt från 1 timmes ritt till 8 dagars tur.

Fick bra instruktioner innan vi red ut. Kändes tryggt. Mycket trevligt.

Had an excellent winter ride on beautiful snowy forest tracks and along a frozen lake. Even saw a moose along the way! Lovely horses and overall great time would thoroughly recommend.

We had a fantastic 2-day trip with awesome scenery, lovely horses and good food! Flo and Rianne are kind and serviceminded and we felt very safe and well taken care of with them and their amazing horses. We will definitely return if the oppurtunity comes!
